Unique Service

Returned materials are critical for providing maximum resources for all library users. The Ottawa Library will begin using the Unique Management bill collection service for overdue accounts beginning in January 2012. Unique specializes in partnering with libraries with their Gentle Nudge process.

Kansas EZ Library

The State Library is changing the way it provides access to digital audiobooks and ebooks. If you have used a Kansas Library Card to access “Audiobooks, Music, and More” you may have noticed that service will no longer be available after Dec 5, 2011.

The new service called Kansas EZ Library can be reached at http://www.kslib.info/digitalbooks. Digital audiobooks will be accessed through One Click Digital. After logging in with your Kansas Library Card, you will need to register (pdf) to create a user name and password. You can choose to use Media Manager (which lets you return titles early) or Manual Download (which allows you to put the book on more types of devices.) This can be easily changed in your preferences.

Ebooks will be coming through 3M Cloud Library. With this service, you can choose to use a direct wireless connection or download to a computer and transfer. Kindle compatibility should be coming soon.
